Privacy Policy

Last updated July 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data OlyMeta (the "Service") collects, why, and how it is used. OlyMeta is a free, non-commercial community tool run by the OlyMeta team ("we", "us"). We aim to collect as little as possible.

1. What We Collect

  • Account data — your handle, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
  • Content you create — guides, build plans, comments, ratings, reports, and profile details you choose to add.
  • Session data — an opaque login token issued when you sign in, so you stay signed in on your device.
  • Technical data — your IP address and basic request metadata, used transiently to rate-limit and protect the Service from abuse.

2. How We Use It

We use this data to:

  • provide the Service — authenticate you, save your work, and show your guides and comments to the community;
  • keep the community safe — moderate content, enforce our Terms, and prevent abuse, spam, and bots;
  • operate and improve the Service on a best-effort basis.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in (your session token) and to remember device-local preferences such as your selected chronicle and interface settings. These stay on your device and are cleared when you sign out or clear your browser storage. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

4. Third-Party Services

When enabled, the Service relies on a few third parties strictly to operate:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-focused anti-bot challenge on the sign-in and registration forms. To tell humans from bots, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser signals. It is not an advertising tracker.
  • Email delivery — when configured, an email provider sends account-confirmation and password-reset messages to the address you provide.
  • Hosting & content delivery — our hosting and CDN providers process requests to serve the Service.

5. Data Retention

Account and content data is kept while your account is active. Login session tokens are short-lived and expire automatically (currently within seven days), and expired tokens are purged. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data, subject to any obligation to keep limited records to prevent abuse.

6. Your Choices

You can view and edit your profile and content from your account, and you can delete your guides and comments. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us through our community Discord server. You can also browse most of the Service as a guest without an account.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children who are below the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
